About this guide, and how it is put together

Who writes it, where each fact comes from, what gets left out on purpose, and how to tell us we have made a mistake.

What this is

Calgary Play & Stay is an independent visitor guide to the casino hotels and casino floors in and around Calgary. It is published under its own name and is not operated by, affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any of the venues it describes. It is not a hotel, not a casino, not a travel agency and not a booking service. Nothing on this site reserves a room, sells a ticket or places a bet.

How a fact gets onto a page

The research was compiled on 4 September 2026 and the site was published the same week. Sources are ranked, and the ranking decides what gets printed:

  1. The venue's own current pages. Highest weight, for hours, restaurants, facilities and gaming figures.
  2. The provincial gaming regulator's venue listing. Used for addresses and telephone numbers, particularly for the smaller floors that publish nothing themselves.
  3. Public tourism bodies — the provincial tourism agency and the city's destination organisation — for room counts and descriptions.
  4. Casino directories and aggregators. Lowest weight. Their numbers are quoted only when they are labelled as reported rather than confirmed, and more often they are left out entirely.

Where two sources disagree, the page says so instead of picking a winner. Where a venue's older website says one thing and its current website says another, the current one wins and the discrepancy is explained.

What has been deliberately left out

This is the part most guides skip, so here it is in full:

An empty field on this site means nobody has stated the answer publicly. It does not mean the answer is no, and it is not an invitation to assume.

Money, or the absence of it

No venue described here pays for its listing, its position in the comparison table, its wording or its photographs. There are no affiliate links, no tracked outbound clicks, no promotional codes and no commercial arrangements with any casino, hotel, operator or booking platform. Nothing on these pages is sponsored. The only outbound links are to the venues' own sites and to official regulator and helpline resources, and they earn nothing.

Photography

Every photograph on this site is stock imagery, licensed for use and chosen to illustrate a subject rather than to depict a particular building. No image shows the interior or exterior of any named venue, and every caption says so. If you want to see what a room or a floor actually looks like, the venues publish their own photographs on their own sites.

Corrections

Things change: restaurants reopen, renovations finish, phone numbers move and service closures are lifted. If something here is wrong or has gone out of date, write to contact@calgaryplaystay.com or use the contact form. Please say which page and, if you have one, point to the source — a venue page, a regulator listing, an official notice. Corrections that come with a source get made quickly. If you represent one of the venues and want a figure corrected, that is welcome too; it will be treated as a source, not as an advertisement.
