Six Calgary-area casinos without a hotel
These floors will happily take your evening, but the night ends with a drive. Addresses, telephone numbers where a number is published, and a straight line on what each one is for.
Six licensed sites in and around Calgary operate without accommodation. That is not a criticism — most casinos in Canada work this way — but it changes how you plan. If you intend to drink, the taxi is part of the budget. If you are visiting from out of town, you are booking a bed somewhere unrelated, which frees you to pick a hotel on price or on neighbourhood rather than on the gaming floor beneath it.
A word on the information below. Four of the six publish very little about themselves, and for those the provincial regulator's own venue listing is effectively the only reliable public record. That is why several cards carry an address and a telephone number and almost nothing else. An empty field here means nobody has stated the answer publicly, not that the answer is no.
Ace Casino Airport
On Aero Crescent, adjacent to the airport, which is essentially the whole of its appeal: this is the floor you drop into before an early departure rather than the one you plan an evening around. There is no accommodation, and no website could be verified as the venue's own, so the telephone number is the only reliable way to check anything.

Ace Casino Blackfoot
The other half of the Ace pair, on Blackfoot Trail in the city's south-east quadrant. Same operator, same absence of a hotel, and the same thin public record: no verified website, no published amenity list and no gaming counts from either the venue or the regulator. Cowboys Casino
Downtown, on 12 Avenue SE in the entertainment district near the Stampede grounds, and the most obvious choice if you are staying in the centre without a car. Its own website publishes daily hours of 09:30 to 05:00 and lists a poker room and a sports lounge, which makes it the only site in the area where a poker table is confirmed by the venue itself. Food comes from the Centre Bar & Eatery. The venue does not publish a street address or telephone number of its own; both are taken from the provincial regulator's listing. Floor-size and machine figures that circulate online are directory numbers and are not repeated here.

Elbow River Casino
Independently owned and operated, on 18 Avenue in downtown Calgary near the Stampede grounds. The smallest public footprint of the group: no verified website, no published amenity list, and nothing in the sources about food, hours or gaming counts. Treat the telephone number as the front door.

Pure Casino Calgary
On Meridian Road in the city's north-east quadrant. It is one of four Alberta properties run by Pure Canadian Gaming, so the room will feel familiar if you have been to the company's other floors in the province. There is no hotel, and the website listed below is the group's corporate site rather than a page for this address.

Century Downs Racetrack and Casino
The outlier, and the most interesting of the six. It is not in Calgary: the address is in Rocky View County near Balzac, about twenty minutes north of downtown, which matters for taxis and for anyone assuming a CTrain will get them there. It opened in April 2015 and brought live horse racing back to the Calgary area for the first time since 2008. Alongside the racing there is an off-track betting area with year-round global simulcast, about 600 slot machines with additional terminals and electronic table games, and The Derby Restaurant. No telephone number could be verified, so the website is the reliable route in.

Getting to them
Five of the six are inside Calgary and reachable by a short taxi or ride-hail from the centre; Cowboys is the only one you would comfortably walk to from a downtown hotel. Century Downs is the exception in every sense — it is north of the city in Rocky View County, roughly twenty minutes from downtown by car, and there is no practical transit route to it. Whichever door you walk through, the provincial floor is identical: 18 and over, photo identification if you look younger than 25, and a self-exclusion programme that covers every Alberta casino and racing entertainment centre at once rather than one building at a time.
